With the careful assistance of fishing professionals, this safari will allow you to discover the Patagonia lakes, staying at two prestigious establishments while fishing in a natural environment of incomparable beauty.

DAY 1: BUENOS AIRES

Description: you will be greeted at Buenos Aires (Ezeiza) airport by your guide. Once you’ve settled in at the hotel, you will have the afternoon off, or, if you prefer, you may take an initial tour through Buenos Aires. At the end of the day, you’ll be given a detailed briefing around a map by one of our Operations Representatives at your hotel.
Lunch and dinner: not included.
Accommodations: Esplendor Buenos Aires Hotel or equivalent.

DAY 2: SAN MARTIN DE LOS ANDES / TIPILIUKE

Description: you’ll be driven to the airport. After a 2 hour 15 min flight, your guide will be waiting at Chapelco airport. Once you’ve settled in at Tipiliuke, and after lunch in the gardens, we suggest an excursion to the Bandurrias viewpoint, which overlooks Lake Lacar, offering beautiful views of the area. It’s possible to descend to San Martin de los Andes by car or on foot (1 hour) if you prefer. You will pass by a Mapuche community village. On the other slope you’ll find the Arrayan viewpoint which offers a very different perspective of Lake Lacar, unless you prefer to continue your exploration to Lake Lolog, 12 km (7.5 miles) off, in which the panorama is more open then in Lake Lacar and is quite stunning.
Note: depending on your time of arrival, late lunch.
Lunch, dinner and accommodations: Estancia Tipiliuke.

DAY 3 : TIPILIUKE / CHIMEHUIN RIVER

Description: your first day of fishing. 14 km (8.7 miles) of the Chimehuin River and 7 km (4.3 miles) of the Quilquihue River cross through the Estancia Tipiliuke and offer the area a privileged spot for exclusive fishing. The Chimehuin River owes its fame to its extraordinary formation and the excellent specimens living in its waters. The river source is at Lake Huechulafquen and it then merges with the Alumine River. For big game fishing you will need to know the surroundings, for which you will have the expert assistance of your guide. The Quilquihue River, of medium dimensions, has its source at Lake Lolog and disembogues in the Chimehuin River, which is its main water source. The Quilquihue River is characterized by its pronounced slope which progressively diminishes until its disemboguement. In its waters a large number of rainbow trout and brown trout can be found. Their average weight varies between 0.5 and 2 kg (1 to 4.5 pounds).
Lunch, dinner and accommodations: Estancia Tipiliuke.

DAY 4: TIPILIUKE / QUILQUIHUE RIVER

Description: after breakfast, you’ll embark on a new fishing safari. Since good fishing depends greatly on weather conditions, we suggest that you stay at each estancia long enough to assure a successful fishing experience. You will agree on each day’s program with your guide, departing very early to fish until lunchtime. The second outing of the day will be from 5 p.m. until sunset. If you prefer, you may enjoy a full day of fishing and take a picnic for lunch.
Lunch, dinner and accommodations: Estancia Tipiliuke.

DAY 5: TIPILIUKE / CHIMEHUIN / QUILQUIHUE RIVERS

Description: a full day of fishing. Tipiliuke is renowned among fishing amateurs and professionals, offering all the amenities of a luxury hotel. Since it has only 9 rooms in the main house, tranquility is assured. The greeting and program of every guest is personalized. If you prefer, you may choose to have lunch in the garden. In the evening, after an intense day of fishing, you can enjoy the sauna, the warm bar, or relax in the magnificent salon with a view of Mt. Los Pinos, which you will identify by its pyramidal form.
Lunch, dinner and accommodations: Tipiliuke Lodge.

DAY 6: TIPILIUKE / ROUTE OF THE 7 LAKES / CORRENTOSO

Description: in the morning, you will set off towards your second fishing territory, the Correntoso Lake & River Resort, in the far south of the Neuquen Province. The road we will take is the famous “Route of the 7 lakes”, which will take you from viewpoint to viewpoint and alongside the different lakes, allowing you to take detours and hikes to enjoy the spectacular natural landscapes of Lanin and Nahuel Huapi Parks. You will love Lake Hermoso, Vulignaco Falls and Lakes Villarino and Falkner, as well as a small detour to Lake Espejo Chico and an excursion to the north arm of Lake Traful. You will arrive delighted at the Correntoso Hotel, which was founded in 1917 as a stop for boats and hydroplanes. In 1943, Francisco Capraro, the owner’s son, built the fantastic lodge we see today. Its history, its reacquisition and refurbishment make this hotel a luxurious establishment ideal for your fishing break. Due to its geographical location, the hotel has become a symbol of sport fishing in Patagonia. Your room will be located a few feet from Lake Nahuel Huapi, Lake Correntoso and Correntoso River. There are no words to describe the beauty of the view over Lake Nahuel Huapi and the peak of Mt. Tres Hermanas.
Distances: 146 km (90 miles) of which 48 km (30 miles) are on dirt roads.
Lunch, dinner and accommodations: Correntoso Hotel.
Note: lunch may be delayed; this will depend on the pace of your excursion.

DAY 7: CORRENTOSO / LAKE ESPEJO / CUERNO, AYUIN AND CAMPANA RIVERS

Description: this first fishing day with your new guide will take place in Nahuel Huapi National Park, on Lake Espejo. You will depart early in the morning for the Rangers’ Bay where you will head to the far north of the lake by boat and fish in the disemboguements of the Cuerno, Ayuin and Campana Rivers. In these waters there are plenty brook trout and brown trout. The techniques we propose are preferably “streamers” fly fishing (which emulate small fish) and dry fly fishing (the best insect imitation possible). We will return to Villa La Angostura at around 10 p.m.
Distances: 30 km (19 miles) circuit.
Lunch: picnic provided by the Correntoso Hotel.
Dinner and accommodations: Correntoso Hotel.

DAY 8: CORRENTOSO / LIMAY RIVER

Description: today you’ll experience a fishing safari on the Limay River, which marks the natural border with the Rio Negro Province. To get there, you must travel along the north coast of Lake Nahuel Huapi. One of the most famous spots in the area is the river mouth which originates in the lake. The best location is on the left flank, a short distance from the lake. In these waters there are plenty of rainbow trout. Streamers, dry flies and pupas will be used; the latter fly fishing technique is the hardest to dominate, for one reason: larvae and pupas found in the deep constitute 90% of the trout’s food source. You will arrive back at the Correntoso Hotel at around 10.30 p.m.
Distances: 140 km (87 miles) roundtrip.
Lunch: picnic provided by the Correntoso Hotel.
Dinner and accommodations: Correntoso Hotel.

DAY 9: CORRENTOSO / PICHUNCO RIVER / TORRES / RUCA MALEN / ELENA BAY

Description: another magnificent day of fishing. After a hearty breakfast, you will head for Lake Correntoso to fish in the Pichunco River, the Torres and Ruca Malen streams and Elena Bay. The return is scheduled for 10.30 p.m. In these waters, you’ll find brown trout and brook trout. For those who accompany you or for yourself, if you decide to interrupt your fishing, the Correntoso Hotel has many excellent facilities for you to enjoy. You will be able to enjoy the heated swimming pool, the wine bar and the spa. Around the hotel, there are numerous trekking paths surrounding Lakes Nahuel Huapi and Correntoso. The hotel can also organize a boat trip to Victoria Island (not included in pricing).
Distances: 50 km (31 miles) circuit.
Lunch: picnic provided by the Correntoso Hotel.
Dinner and accommodations: Correntoso Hotel.

DAY 10: CORRENTOSO/ LOS ARRAYANES PARK/ BARILOCHE/ BUENOS AIRES

Description: after breakfast, you will begin an excursion through the Los Arrayanes Peninsula. Accompanied by your guide, you will board a catamaran for an excursion around the peninsula. At the end of the Park, we will stop for an 800 meter (2600 feet) hike through the famous myrtle forest. The bark of this tree is chestnut when it’s young and orange in its adulthood (160 – 250 years). If you like you may return by foot with your guide (12 km – 7.5 miles / 2 hours) through a lovely path which will take you to the peninsula entrance. After lunch you will be taken to Bariloche airport for a 2 hour flight back to Buenos Aires. You will be transferred to the hotel so you can settle in. In the evening a dinner show will demonstrate to you the passion and grace of tango. Argentina continues to reveal it soul!
Distances: 85 km (53 miles), around 90 minutes.
Lunch: at the Auto Club Restaurant in Villa La Angostura, or equivalent.
Dinner show: VIP seats at the Esquina Carlos Gardel restaurant, or equivalent.
Accommodations: Moreno Hotel or equivalent.

DAY 11: BUENOS AIRES

Description: before leaving for the airport, you will be free to continue to discover Buenos Aires and/or, if you prefer, go shopping. At Plaza de Mayo you’ll discover the Casa Rosada, the president’s HQ. To end the tour, you can visit Puerto Madero, the old city port that has recently been completely refurbished.

Dinner and night: on the plane.
