Polo in Argentina: after their hard days work, the young Argentine aspire to relax. To do this, they have horses and land at hand. The circuit offers to mingle with them and discover the very exclusive world of polo that combines passion for horses, love the great outdoors, power, speed, timing and teamwork. You are invited in two exceptional estancias, hosted and initiated by professional players.
Argentine polo horses: the Argentine horse is descended from the horses brought over by the Spanish conquistadors of the 16th century. These horses then adapted to life in the Pampas and produced small, rustic and strong specimens, which make up the “criolla” breed. Today’s Argentine polo horse is a result of the breeding of the “criollo” with thoroughbred race horses. In August 1984 the “Argentine Association of Polo Horse Breeders” (Asociación Argentina de Criadores de Caballos de Polo) was founded, which is responsible for promoting the creation of a new special breed of polo horse. Its aim is to develop the breeding of this horse and improve its qualities, in addition to establishing a selective and genealogical registry.
